College Playwriting Competition

A Theatre Connection is proud to announce our inaugural College Playwriting Competition designed to encourage, support, and spotlight emerging playwrights. Selected playwrights will receive a prize of $250, the opportunity to have their work performed as part of our New Works Festival in September 2015, and possible commission opportunities.

We are looking for bold, heartfelt work that is unafraid to take risks.

ELIGIBILITY: Playwrights must be currently enrolled as either an undergraduate, or graduate. OR have graduated within the last year from a university.

 Instructions:

• All submissions must be e-mailed to literary@atheatreconnection.com by Friday, June 5th. Early submissions are highly encouraged.
• Include a separate cover page that includes your name, contact information. Writer’s name should NOT be included on any other page.
• Each work must be no longer than 30 pages (there is no minimum). You can submit up to 4 works.
• Send all material in .pdf format.
• All submissions must entirely be the original work of the playwright.
• Work submitted may have had previous readings, or amateur productions. Please do not submit any work that has been previously produced professionally, or published.
